The Purple Pear's French Caramel Cream With Pecans, Hot Fudge Cream, and French Caramel Cream has proudly won first, second, and third place awards from The Connecticut Specialty Food Association (CSFA)!

2008 Connecticut Specialty Food Product Awards Announced Hartford, CT – The CT Specialty Food Association (CSFA) held its eighth Product Awards Competition on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville. One hundred seventy-eight specialty food items from Connecticut-based manufacturers were entered into 19 categories, with hopes of receiving the prestigious honor of CSFA Product Award Winner 2008.

A panel of 27 judges consisting of local media personalities, food writers, and chefs from the CT Department of Agriculture’s Farm-to-Chef Program scored products on overall taste, originality, variety, and flavor. Each judge was assigned to specific categories, responsible for evaluating an average of approximately 40 different products.
